Bob Hope Humanitarian Award To George Clooney
George Clooney will receive special award in the Emmy competition to be held on the next August 29 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Associated Press proclaims The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences will give a “Bob Hope Humanitarian Award” to Clooney.
“Bob Hope Humanitarian Award” given to those who working in the telecommunications industry where their humanitarians work giving effect to the industry and their actions to give long effect to the public. Award name was taken from the name of the late actor Bob Hope.
Clooney received an award for a special television program “Hope for Haiti,” which also received an Emmy nomination.
In addition, the 49-year-old actor’s involvement in humanitarian activities to raise funds for victims Katrina Hurricane also helped raise awareness of genocide in Darfur, Sudan.

Clooney will become the fourth person to receive this award. Three previous award-winning Bob Hope is Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, and the late actor Danny Thomas.
George Clooney had been twice nominated for best male lead role for the drama series category in 1995 and 1996 through his role as a doctor Ross in the series “ER.”
Clooney won an Oscar in 2005 for best supporting actor category through the “Syriana” Movie. Last year, he failed to win the Oscar for best male category of the main character through the movie “Up In The Air” and losing from Jeff Bridges.
