

Commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrystal to apologize for his criticism of some officials and diplomats in his country in a magazine article Rolling Stone, Gen.
General Stanley McChrystal in the Rolling Stone magazine described ”poor rating” and lack of integrity.
In that article, General McChrystal said he felt betrayed by the U.S. ambassador to Kabul, Karl Eikenberry.
The staff of the general’s mocking Vice President Joe Biden and said General McChrystal ”disappointed” to President Obama.
The apology was delivered when the U.S. Congress report said the country’s military has given tens of millions of dollars to companies that funnel money services to leaders of Afghan militia.
‘Miss from the standard’
Article in The Rolling Stone with the title The Runaway General will begin to circulate on Friday, but General McChrystal quickly sought to limit its negative impact.
He stated in a statement Tuesday: ”My most sincere apologies for this profile.”
”That was a mistake that reflects the assessment that is bad and should never have happened.”
He added: ”Throughout my career, I live by the principles of personal honor and professional integrity. Which is reflected in this article that misses the standard.”
”I put a very high respect and admiration to President Obama and his national security team and to the civilian leaders and troops who fought in this war and I remain determined to ensure this success,” said McChrystal.
Nato spokesman James Appathurai said on Tuesday that the article was ”regrettable”, but NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen have a full trust to General McChrystal as commander of the Nato – and his strategy.”
