Damon Evans described Courtney Fuhrmann as “just a friend” after Fuhrmann and Evans were arrested. Courtney Fuhrmann and Damon Evans were arrested Wednesday night for different counts, Evans for DUI and disorderly conduct.

Courtney Fuhrmann was Evans’ passenger but today she is not talking. Her LinkedIn page lists Fuhrmann as working in real estate. She was arrested after she allegedly refused to stay in Evans’ car after his arrest. Law enforcement tell AJC that “several times” Courtney Fuhrmann tried to leave the vehicle, was told to remain in the car, and tried to leave again. More..

Damon Evans is a lucky man. At least for the moment, he still has his job. Were I the president of the University of Georgia, Evans would be out of work.

The Bulldogs’ athletics director met the press here 12 1/2 hours after he left an Atlanta jail.
